A gentle return to balance
The Journey · 7 Days · 6 Nights
Some journeys take you outward. This one brings you back. Back to stillness. Back to your body. Back to the quiet knowing that gets buried beneath the pace of everyday life. The Return is our most gentle offering - designed for those who are ready to stop and feel what they have been moving past. You will walk slowly. Eat simply. Rest deeply. And somewhere along the way, without trying, something in you will settle.
Arrive into the valley. A blessing ceremony at a sacred 15th-century temple. Afternoon walk through orchards and fields alongside a local farmer. Farm-to-table lunch from the land. A traditional herbal soak as evening falls. Bonfire under the stars.
Open-air yoga before travelling toward the capital, pausing at a sacred river confluence along the way. In the city: a traditional astrology reading with a Bhutanese astrologer. A prayer flag printing workshop at a celebrated school of traditional arts. Riverside picnic lunch. Wander through the craft bazaar. Guided meditation beside the flowing river.
Morning practice at the base of the great golden Buddha - Bhutanese healing meditation and gentle healing movements with a traditional medicine practitioner, followed by a wellness consultation. Cooking demonstration and traditional lunch at a heritage village home. Drive over the high mountain pass marked by 108 memorial chortens - pause to hang prayer flags. Arrive in the warm valley. Guided meditation at dusk.
Breakfast overlooking the great valley dzong. Hike to a hilltop temple surrounded by terraced rice fields, with yoga on the summit. Time inside the dzong - butter lamps offered for peace. Suspension bridge into a riverside village for a dumpling-making session with a local family. Afternoon by the river.
Morning yoga with the valley below. Drive back to the first valley. Afternoon inside a multi-generational Bhutanese farmhouse - archery with bamboo bows, Khuru, farm lunch, a taste of ara. Nothing performed, everything simply shared. Visit to a historic watchtower housing centuries of Bhutanese artefacts and memory. Slow evening through town.
An early start through pine forest and prayer flags to Tiger's Nest - the monastery perched 900 metres above the valley floor, a sacred site that has drawn pilgrims for centuries and asks something of everyone who makes the climb. Lunch overlooking the monastery. Evening: a hot stone bath infused with medicinal herbs - deeply restorative, deeply grounding.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
